(2008-2010) In August 2008 Russian troops rolled into Georgia to carry out so-called "peace enforcement operation" after Georgian army tried to retake a breakaway province. The invasion was accompanied by aerial bombardments targeting both military and civilian infrastructures. The occupation has been followed by the recognition of the two Georgian breakaway regions (Abkhazia and South Ossetia) as independent states by the Russian government which has been supporting the separatist movements in these regions for years. This is what this artwork is about -- politics with a Russian 'K'. Arranged chronologically, from oldest to newest.
